Many, many thanks to Gabor for suggesting Ambleside. I scored my first session (1hr) at Ambleside on 12m + surfboard. Fun waist high waves leeward of the totem pole. SW 16-18 onshore wind wasn't quite enough to get past the pier but still plenty of fun.

Some hazards to watch for. Keep out of the eastern most cove to avoid strong current and shallow barnacle bottom. I learned the hard way - hit bottom lost a fin and cut (small) my hand.

Gabor says when the Hollyburn sensor shows 9 knots, it should be sailable at Ambleside.

That was Gabor on 9m (green) + hydrofoil. I was on my 12m (blue+white+yellow) + surfboard. It was a great session. Happy for your stoke!

Glad to see you scored Alton. It's a shame we wasted all morning at Jericho.

I am glad you decided to check out A-side, and sorry for you loosing a fin! I try to stay away from that area even in high tide, because the wind is lighter in that corner, and shuts down first +can have too much current+ closer to the sewage plant... on your first run back aim for the west side of the Totem pole, passed that things get easier, and the waves can be nicer: further apart...
It was a fun session!
cheers,
Gabor

Scored 1.5 hours lit on 11m at Spanish Banks from 7:00-8-30 am :D It was really light near shore but I decided to give it a go and found there was a wind line 50 yards from shore and it was perfect steady 17ish knots.

Nice job getting on the water at 7am and good score Jack. 1.5 hours powered is great. Get ready for tomorrow!
