It looks windy enough to kite at 3rd - but East. Jealous of the guys who made the trek to the island. I will head down there and check it out. Beats sitting at work.

The Columbia and Double Bluff webcam is nice to watch for those of us stuck at work. I've seen five or six perfectly clean back loops and a couple of fully planing forwards at Columbia so far. Light green/white Goya sail and a greenish/blue colour sail with an orange luff sleeve seem to be throwing down every couple of minutes. Is one of those you AG? I can see Michael's yellow HSM's and Dave's C36 logo and bright helmet :D

Have fun guys.......stoked for all of you!

Cheers,

Chris

I'm sad to say that's not me Chris :( I'm at work watching the fun on CBTV. Adrian is on his shiny new orange Kode with a red Severne, he is now MIA, saw him do a few loops earlier though. Hope to get out in Boundary Bay later if not I'll hit it for dawn patrol tomorrow.

Too bad Michael, I thought that was you ripping gybes on the inside. I think Dave mentioned that Kus sails Goya stuff. Pretty cool to watch clean endo forwards and backloops off smaller ramps. The guys must be super powered up. Some of those backloops by the guy on the white/green Goya are near vertical and super floaty........nice style for sure 8-) Fingers crossed you guys get a session late today or tomorrow morning. There's lots of action on the Whidbey and Goose Spit cam too to watch :D

Cheers,

Chris

OSR 3rd. Feels 12 to 15. NE. It's cold. There's no waves. Two kiters out on 12m, looking reasonably powered. I'm going to wait and see.

halibut bank at 0.7m. It means South side of strait is weak. Columbia beach has the wind but not the wave height.
30knots on whole strait we would be looking at 1.6mhb+. 0.7m is not much
Hope it improves locally.

Big score at Columbia today. Overpowered 4.5 for first half finally relenting to 3.7 (which worked much better when with a smaller fin). AG aerials and C36 picking the big waves. Tried a few backloops that ended in the nose dive but generally too chicken when so powered. Interesting wave set up. You take a wave down then sail clew first and with the right wave and timing you cutback. Some of the locals have the timing and positioning pretty dialed in. I left for the 3pm ferry exhausted with others still going strong. Nice to see David M (past Vancouver local).

Awesome score Mike! 3.7 and front side riding in great conditions.........jealous 8-) It was fun watching you guys today on the webcam. It was interesting to see the difference between Columbia and Comox with the incoming tide. Columbia seemed to flatten out and get disorganized close to shore while Comox got cleaner and much bigger with the higher tide. The white water alone looks over head high on the outer breaking set in the webcam picture  Can't wait to see C36's pictures as always. Whidbey has been pumping since 11am but still nothing like Columbia. More like 9 meter kite 4.7-5.0 wind. I hope next Tuesday and Thursday are good locally.

Cheers,

Chris

Whidbey doesn't look very exciting compared to Columbia and Comox today :o

Scored 1.5 hrs at 3rd Ave on 12m+surfboard ENE 14-18 from 11:30am-1pm. First 45 minutes was nicely powered. By the end got bored of the easterly chop and marginal wind. Chilly fingers became numb without gloves. Called it quits after 1pm to avoid Massey tunnel rush hour.

Enjoyed the day with Clay (11m+14m), Jerry (9.5m+13.5m), Joe (12m), Rob W (12m), Bill (13m) and Francis (windsurfing 7m).
