strange that strait swell wasn't there, I've seen 1.5m on SE @hb, hitting columbia beach with nice surf, but not today @0.7m.

for 25 knots it should be around 1.2m

well... time to dust off my 7m sail and head to Jericho for my usual 12-17knt, for some outdoor planing exercise.

It is okay for windsurfing at Stearmen Beach by point Atkinson on all tides but no beach to launch a kite unless low tide. The wind is gnarly though! Kite dropping lulls and weird shifting wind. The wind can just shut off in seconds too and if you drift you drift out to the straight haha. I have tried so many times because it's near my house and it never works. I have given up with it.

Awesome session. Been too long since my last outing. 7M was the weapon of choice with twin tip. Could've used my 5m for a solid hour out there as the graph clearly was hitting 40kts. I was a little reluctant to pul the trigger a couple of times, so I would cruise along slowly and slowly bring kite to 12. Pull the bar and I would sky rocket straight up at an incredible speed! Pretty fun. Lots of long lofty hang times. My 15 month old was walking with mom on the beach and was blown over a few times. Warm weather. Awesome start to the weekend.

Alton, I guess you were there? I forgot you picked up some new kites.

Gusty day at Locust. S 20-30 gusting 40 from 12-3pm. Good Canadian turnout with Faceplant/Lucas (7m), Cash (10m), George (6m), Lorne (5.5m), Joe (7m), Jerry (7m), Clay (5.5m), Dave/C36 (windsurfing), Mike (7m) and I (7m+surfboard). Lots of American locals also.

Super smooth fast water with small waves for the first hour becoming disorganized towards the end. Most guys were overpowered at times but I was mostly underpowered and pumping my brand new 7m Blade Trigger most of the time. Changing the knot on the steering lines significantly improved the power. I'll need to spend a few more sessions tuning the new 7m by adding for knots on the steering lines.

Thanks for the pictures Lucas / Faceplant.
