Does anyone have information/ recommendations on a commercial shipping address in the US near the border? I was going to use Point Roberts but it turns out it's quite expensive compared to the "mainland."

I used to use ship2blaine, which is quite a bit out of the way near Birch Bay. It's by donation and just someone's house. I would give $5 CAD. There is no security though so don't ship anything too valuable there.

The hassle of the mainland border was too much for me though so once in out parcel opened up in PR I switched and I've been very happy. 24 hr access, decent rates, reasonable border times, friendlier border guards and I take my dog for walks at Lighthouse Park.

I'm friends with Shawn, the owner of ship2Blaine. It's a sweet little setup he has there, but as slappy said, be careful with valuable items. Items to be picked up are usually left in a container in the driveway, under video surveillance, but he will hold things inside for you if you want to arrange a time to pick it up when he is there.

I use 24/7 Parcel - really useful to be able to pick up your parcel any time. The charges are competitive, a couple bucks for delivery plus storage if it sits there more than a week.
