The wind wasn't getting into Ambleside when I saw it at 6 am and at 930 when I was crossing back over the Lions Gate.

Interesting session at Spanish Banks (Lifeguard Station) from 6:45 to 9 am. Light swirly wind on the beach made self-launch somewhat challenging. 100 metres out was lit on a 10m and all alone with one windsurfer just upwind. Gusty puffy wind from 20-35 knots. I have never adjusted the trim so many times in one session. On the outside by the marker I was having trouble burning off speed, even with the depower fully out and the kite at 12. On the inside the kite wanted to drop out of the sky.

The tide was really full which meant disorganized random swell and breaking waves, but a few fun rides to be had. The best waves seemed to be about 200m offshore of Dog Beach, with the high tide the swell was refracting against the rock wall and delivering some nice shaped sections good enough for 2-3 hits.

Tom Mulcair and his people were doing a rally on the beach, but luckily the RCMP let me leave the parking lot before the entourage took off. How considerate of them :)

AJ, Alton, Alton JR and many others arrived around 9. The wind was still going strong and the waves will only get better as the tide drops. Enjoy!

Great day at Jericho. Started with 8m kite at 9 am then ended up windsurfing with 4.5 m sail at 10.00am. Way too gusty and sometimes overpowered with 4.5 m sail.

Had an awesome session from 9:30 to 12:30 overpowered a lot of the time on my 10m. Full depower for most of the session. When I launched the tide was in and the wind was gusty on the beach. Launched my kite and was instantly lifted 8 feet in the air and sent 15 feet downwind towards the barnacle covered rocks, I was lucky to get away with just a few cuts to my feet that didn't ruin my day.

Acadia as it should be! It was best before the tide dropped; at about 10 - 11 am there were beautiful clean, widely spaced swell. Mokka and I both scored nice sessions from about 1030 - noon on 4.3 and 3.8 respectively. Great to see how many people still windsurf in Vancouver too!!

Senior woke me up at five in the morning in order to get to Spanish Banks. For the longest time it was too gusty for me to even attempt going out, forcing me to keep myself occupied with homework :( .

Senior trashed our 7m, so I was forced to try the 9m. Bad choice, as I got picked up multiple times and dragged along the sand bars.

Finally, the wind died down enough for me to get out for almost 1 hour. I managed to nail a few transitions, plus I kept up wind (at least for a little while)! Fingers crossed for next weekend! :D

When I arrived at Acadia around 8:30, there were already lots of peeps on the water. I rigged 4.7, but rerigged after about 10 mins. 76 litre and a flattened 4.2 sail were good. Nice head-high swell in the early morning for backside rides coming in, and port jumps going out. Late afternoon got choppy as the tide got low.

It was a full house with 30 to 40 windsurfers, and a couple of kiters.

Crazy day at Spanish Banks. Third on the water at 9am after Tony360 (10m+surfboard) and Graham (9m+surfboard) with my 9m+surfboard. As Tony said, waves were disorganized with big lulls and 30 knot gusts. After a couple of nice gybes, huge gusts yanked me off my surfboard - wish I had straps today. Difficulty keeping my footing riding strapless so ended up downwind followed by 30 minutes de-weeding my lines.

Second attempt on my 7m quickly ended with a big canopy split. Glad it happened on the sandbar and not out on the water.

Waited patiently for the crazy ass (WSW 30-35) wind to calm down at 12pm. Launched junior on our 9m but she got lifted so I took my turn. Crazy chop at the shelf but smooth rollers by the freighters. Enjoyed another hour in holey but civilized WSW 25-30 on 9m+surfboard.

Finally wind dropped enough (WSW 18-25) for junior to take her turn on 9m+TT.

Never seen so many kites at Spanish Banks and a full house of windsurfers at Acadia.
