Things are looking pretty grim for wind this weekend, thoughts on the Nicola forecast? Guru is calling for 8g11 but the temps and cloud cover look pretty decent to me.

WindGuru is suggesting sailable wind. Temperature gradient looks good. I think odds are good for Nicola this weekend.

Does the wind at Nicola usually pick up in the afternoon, early evening?

Yes. That's the typical pattern.

Any good campsites up there close to a windsurfing spot? I noticed one called Monck provincial park, but not sure if that's the best spot... sounds like there can be quite a wind shadow at Monck

Monck is good place for family but you need to drive around the lake to the windsurfers launch.

Some people camp at the sailing centre which is close to the windsurfer launch.

If the wind has a lot of west, the wind shadow at Monck is bad, if there is plenty of south in it it's not bad. I've seen people sail and kite out of Monck.
Also, if it is really south, some of the Nicola crew will head to Stump. It's about 15 minutes up the road. Not sure about camping there. It's the Nicola Valley. You could head up a forestry road and camp for free in the bush?

Was tempted to pull the trigger on this one, but went to Harrison instead. Too light. Alex was out on foil board, and no one else. Looked like Nicola was OK from 3 to 5pm.
I been no too lucky lately. Must quit job and get wife to support me.
