Blowing 22 knots westerly at Jericho right now. Where did that come from?

I have been watching it.

None in the forecast. Columbia beach spiked but went down to nothing.
Sisters is SW (= no surf). But Jericho may deliver.

Race rocks was 40mph gusting 50mph.

Jericho looks sweet right now. Who knows for how long. Very flat (like a skating rink) and 20+knots. Francis should be doing speed trials on his 9m sail.

That looks like a squall passing, I wouldn't expect it to last more than 10 min.

would a squal hit YVR and Jericho together? I would have thought it would be more localised. There's 25 knots further up the straight as well.

Nice gentle flood (almost slack) mid-tide too (2.3 m at 11 am rising to 3.1 m at 3.2 at 3 to 4 pm). Let us know what you find Richi!

Assuming it's the same system pushing Squamish to 27 knots, EC is calling for that backing off early afternoon which lines up with TAF 9-11.

Odd that EC's straight forecast was for SW 10-20, I guess they thought this system would pass to the North of us.
