Hey Chris - I'm getting excited.

Looks like your forecast is the same as NWwind.net

Getting excited...................

This is WTFBC right  Everything is looking pretty sweet 16 hours out. The head forecaster, Albrecht, has said the confidence is very high for a Westerly wind event in all areas bordering Juan De Fuca Strait tomorrow. I just hope the snow holds off until later on the Coquihalla. You'll love the swell and waves tomorrow Alton, smooth, smooth, smooth................and big.

Cheers,

Chris

To be honest I have no sense of what to watch for at WI, but "Sun 8am SSW 20g27
Sun 7pm WSW 25g38" sounds better than anything forecast for us here locally (and to my understanding ebey landing works on WSW. NOAA text forecast is better with it being W by late morning. It would be nice to know what Chris thinks. On standby.

Hi Dave,

Chris is in Merritt braving 15cm of fresh snow on the coquihalla with the worse part still to come

Basically, you are good with anything from South through to WNW at Whidbey. You get a big Venturi effect between the Olympics and the Cascades and it's very rare to have less wind there than locally.

Keep an eye on Sheringham, Race and Smith for the switch to Westerly. Locust is a good safe bet if it hasn't gone West yet. Rip it up there then make the extra 1.2 hour drive south when it switches a West at Whidbey.

I'm heading straight to either Ebey or Joseph Whidbey depending on the direction. Now back to the whiteout...........

Cheers,

Chris

Chris - safe travels

I'm leaning towards Locust since already blowing and tide is high all day. Then as you suggested head to Whidbey if conditions change. Still on the fence but I'll make my decision soon before the border line up builds.
