Things don't look good down south. Smith island is only S 16 k. Let me know what you guys think, I'm ready to go anytime. Isn't this weekend crazy for traffic over across the boarder?

Hi Dave,

Another thing you need to look for a Westerly to work through Juan De Fuca is an increasing pressure tendency on the SISW1 pressure/wind/time graph.

You should see the tendency begin to go negative with a switch to ESE-S wind. As the front nears that tendency should start to fall rapidly, -.10 inches per hour or more.

Next up, watch the hourly pressure and see when it bottoms and then starts to rise. Ideally, you want a pressure of 29.80 or less before the tendency starts to rise. Your a Westerly wind is 2 hours away at most once the pressure starts to go positive.

If it continues dropping, you usually have a nice S-SE setup with the typical cold front. Anything that's rapidly falling or rising at Dmith a Island is well worth watching.

In the meantime, get going to Locust and keep an eye on Whidbey.

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Guys,

Good News on the 6am actuals.

Destruction Island, Tatoosh Island, Sheringham Point have all switch Westerly in the past forty minutes.

Race Rocks has clocked around to SW and jumped from 2 knots to 24 in the past forty minutes.

The pressure tendencies are rising on the Coast sharply and starting to turn mid Strait.

Barring a stalled front or something weird I would guess that Joseph Whidbey will be firing shortly before lunch today. I'll post an OSR around 11-1130 from there if you guys are at Locust.

You can come down for a three hour afternoon session from Locust if it's worth the extra drive. The conditions at Locust are not the same as Joseph Whidbey. Well worth the drive if it's going off.

About to lose cell service........

Cheers,

Chris
